Determination of Knowledge, Attitudes and Behaviors towards Traditional and Complementary Medicine in Patients Applying to Pamukkale University Medical Faculty Hospital Polyclinics

Objective: The aim of research was to investigate the attitudes and behaviors towards traditional complementary medicine methods, use which has increased in recent years, individuals admitted hospital.Material-Method: descriptive study performed by applying a questionnaire 276 people. included questions about sociodemographic characteristics participants, their knowledge, Complementary, Alternative, Conventional Medicine Attitude Scale. Data were analyzed with Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 15. Chi-square test, Mann-Whitney U Kruskall-Wallis H tests used comparison characteristics. p<0.05 considered significant.Results: 33% respondents had applied at least one method. most commonly methods cupping (n=40), phytotherapy (n=34) acupuncture (n=17). mean score scale found be 109.05±15.44. aged 45 over is higher than other ages 102.7±17.2 (p<0.048). A statistically significant difference between method variables age, marital status, place residence longest time, perceived health (p<0.05).Conclusion: TCM are known majority people who visit polyclinics. Their quite close positive. Physicians should question whether patients methods.
